Malaysian Press Institute

Malaysian Press Institute or popularly known as MPI, was instituted as a foundation on 13th of April 2007 under the Malaysia’s Company Act of 1965. Prior to that it was known as Institut Akhbar Malaysia (IAM), a non governmental organisation, registered under the National Society’s Act. IAM was established in 1968 by the Malaysian media with the support of the government via the Ministry of Information, mainly to provide basic training in journalism for Malaysian media practitioners as, unlike today, there was no journalism, media or communication school in the country then. It was then known as South East Asia Centre.

TV Al-Hijrah

TV Al-Hijrah is a state-owned free-to-air television network in Malaysia, which is owned and operated by Al Hijrah Media Corporation, a government owned company. It broadcasts from its headquarters in Pusat Islam, Kuala Lumpur. It was officially launched it started began broadcasting nationwide on 7 December 2010 as TV AlHijrah is known as the first free-to-air television station in Malaysia formatted as islamic television channel similar to Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International (United Kingdom), RTB TV5 (Brunei), Alif TV (Indonesia) and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Television Channel 1 (Saudi Arabia). TV AlHijrah broadcasts for 18 hours in daily from 06:00 until 00:00. It utilises HDTV technology.

TV9

TV9 is a free-to-air private television station in Malaysia. TV9 began broadcasting on 22 April 2006, as a subsidiary of Media Prima Berhad. It formerly existed as Channel 9, which began airing on 9 September 2003 and ceased transmission on 1 February 2005 due to financial difficulties faced by the operator.

National News Agency Of Malaysia

Radio24

Radio24 is the first news and talk radio station in Malaysia. The free-to-air station began trial transmission on 16 August 2007 at 12:00 noon and was officially launched on 3 September 2007 at 9:00 a.m. It broadcasts on the FM 93.9 Megahertz frequency that was formerly used by RTM's Klasik Nasional FM. It also broadcasts in Johor Bahru at 107.5 MHz that starts at Jan 2012.

IKIM.fm

IKIM.fm is one of the radio channels available in Malaysia. IKIM is an acronym for the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia, the operator station. IKIMfm officially launched by the Former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on July 6, 2001.
