 What can we do with whole chicken:

1. Cook it slowly - Cooking a whole chicken in the slow cooker is a hands-off technique that results in the most luscious, succulent, fall-off-the-bone flesh. You won't get the brown, crackly skin that comes from dry heat in the oven, but the meat is so juicy and tasty that you won't regret adopting this method.

2. Brown it - Braising isn't just for huge pieces of beef and hog. Lean whole chicken is another excellent choice for this low and slow cooking method. While you could braise chicken in any liquid, we can't think of one that beats milk or coconut milk. It produces a delicious supper with luscious, fall-of-the-bone meat.

3. Use an Instant Pot to cook it - If you haven't already heard, you can completely cook a full chicken in your Instant Pot. And, sure, it is as incredible as it sounds. While the skin gets a wonderful sear with the sauté function, it doesn't get the crispiness you'd get in the oven, but in exchange, this version is done in a fraction of the time and has ridiculously juicy meat.

4. Make it into a soup by simmering it - One of the most warm and cozy meals of all time is chicken soup cooked with a whole chicken. You'll want to save it for a day when you have plenty of time on your hands, because while it's not difficult, it does require some time. The chicken is first simmered with several aromatics to generate a full-flavored broth, then the meat is taken from the bones to finish out the soup, whether on the stovetop or in the slow cooker.
